DryJET-THERMAL®

The Engineered Alternative to Strip Curtains and High-Speed Doors

Strip curtains don't work. High-speed doors are dangerous and expensive to maintain. Yet for decades, these have been the only options for protecting freezer doorways from thermal loss and ice buildup.

DryJET-THERMAL® eliminates the need for both. This patented horizontal air barrier system replaces outdated strip curtains and risky high-speed doors with a safer, more effective solution that keeps cold in, moisture out, and operations moving freely.

Solutions

From air handling to energy recovery, our engineered systems reduce costs, improve productivity, and create long-term sustainability.

Solutions for Every Climate Challenge

At SCE®, we don't just supply equipment—we engineer complete climate control systems tailored to your specific challenges. Every solution integrates our patented technologies, proven methodologies, and global partnerships to deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, productivity, and sustainability.

The Problem with Traditional Solutions

Strip curtains get damaged, pushed aside, or removed entirely. High-speed doors create safety hazards, require constant maintenance, and still don't prevent the buoyancy effect that drives warm air into freezers and cold air out. Meanwhile, your refrigeration plant works overtime, ice forms at doorways, and energy costs climb.

DryJET-THERMAL® solves what strip curtains and high-speed doors can't.

How It Works:

Breaking the Buoyancy Effect

When cold and warm air meet at a doorway, physics takes over. Cold air sinks out of the freezer while warm, moisture-laden air rushes in, creating the buoyancy effect that drives thermal loss and ice formation. DryJET-THERMAL® disrupts this process with a precisely tuned horizontal air stream that creates an invisible thermal barrier. Installed on the cold side of the doorway, the system forces air across the opening at controlled velocities between 5 and 50 m/s, preventing air exchange between zones without obstructing traffic or workflow.

The result? A doorway that can remain open 24/7 with full protection against both thermal loss and moisture ingress.

The Numbers Tell the Story

  • Reduces buoyancy-driven airflow through doorways by up to 95%
  • Slashes refrigeration energy consumption by preventing warm air infiltration and cold air escape
  • Eliminates ice and condensation at the freezer-to-warmer area interface
  • Improves freezer temperature stability, reducing plant cycling and wear
  • Removes strip curtain replacement costs permanently; no more torn, damaged, or missing curtains
  • Eliminates the need for unsafe high-speed doors while delivering superior thermal protection
  • Keeps doorways open and safe for forklift traffic and pedestrian movement

Proven Performance: The Thermal Evidence

Thermal imaging of installed DryJET-THERMAL® systems shows a sharp, straight line between zones: -20°C on the freezer side, +8°C on the dispatch side, with minimal temperature bleed. This isn't marketing, it's measurable physics showing the system doing exactly what it's engineered to do.

Built for Demanding Environments

Available in models for door heights from 1.8m to 5.5m and widths up to 4m, DryJET-THERMAL® is designed for real-world cold storage operations:
Epoxy powder coated as standard for durability in harsh environments
304 stainless steel option available for food processing and pharmaceutical applications
On-board power management with phase failure protection, automatic voltage correction, and fault diagnostics
Auto-restart functionality eliminates nuisance trips and manual resets after power interruptions
Self-contained controls with alarm outputs for integration with facility management systems

The Complete Solution Approach

DryJET-THERMAL® works even more effectively when integrated with complementary SCE® systems:

  • Combine with DryZONE-PLUS® for comprehensive moisture and thermal protection in high-traffic environments
  • Add DryJET® ceiling diffusers to eliminate condensation in adjoining spaces
  • Integrate with remote monitoring for predictive maintenance and performance optimisation

At SCE®, we don't just sell equipment; we engineer complete climate control solutions with single accountability from design through long-term support.
