The DryJET® Ceiling Diffuser uses patented tangential plates to emit cold, dry air in a high-speed laminar flow that adheres to the ceiling surface. This is the Coandă effect: air sticking to a flat surface due to the low-pressure zone created by high-velocity flow.
As the air travels across the ceiling, it entrains surrounding air, increasing the overall mass flow and extending coverage far beyond what traditional diffusers can achieve. The air maintains contact with the ceiling as long as velocity remains high, creating a protective blanket that prevents warm, moist air from rising and condensing.
